Southeastern Sicily,
in a landscape of dry-stone walls, carob and
olive trees, and a UNESCO world heritage site!

An exceptionally elegant vacation getaway near Noto

Located on a 30-hectare parcel of land is this extraordinary place, a holiday villa with a private pool – La Tenuta, built in 1852 and once used for the production of wine and oil. The proprietors have had the property restored with painstaking attention to detail and including the old stables and storehouses, so that guests enjoy historic structures that have been augmented with modern elements. Visitors can immerse themselves in an atmosphere of old Sicily. Both the interior and exterior spaces boast singular amenities. In addition to double beds, each room also has air conditioning and a flat-screen TV, and there is satellite signal in the inner rooms. The grounds include an extensive and enchanting garden with hundred-year-old carob and olive trees, a cushy pavilion, and, the absolute highlight, a 30-meter pool. From here you can see the surrounding hills of Noto and to the translucent waters of the Mediterranean. Villa La Tenuta is also the site of an ancient cloister, which takes on a magical ambiance at twilight. Beginning in fall 2015, one particular highlight is a 7-day culinary discovery tour of the kitchens of Val di Noto, led by the region’s best chefs and divided into five lessons. But the chef’s course is not the only centerpiece of this tour of culinary discovery; fall on Sicily, with its mild weather, is a feast for the senses. You’ll also get an inside look at traditional wineries and have the chance to take part in a tasting and the harvest itself.

Just a few kilometers away is the small city of Noto, a Baroque fairytale of a place full of honey-colored period architecture. One of Sicily’s nicest coastal areas is the nature reserve at Vendicari, which includes the swimming beach at Cala Mosche.
