A villa in Sicily with pool and view of the sea – only a few minutes away from the Baroque city of Noto

The Villa Papeda is nestled within 5000 m2 of beautiful property filled with fig and olive groves and lemon trees. The name “Papeda” comes from a special type of lemon. The villa offers a beautiful view of the sea in the direction of the Vendicari Nature Reserve, which stretches all the way to the southernmost point of Sicily, the Portopalo di Capo Passero lighthouse. The villa’s garden, filled with a rich amount of vegetation, also offers shade on hot summer days. This modern vacation villa with pool in Sicily was recently renovated and furnished as a split-level. All rooms have access to the garden. Its large windows create a friendly living atmosphere. The covered terrace is ideal for just relaxing with view of the pool or for communal meals in the open air, with its comfortable lounge sofas, outdoor grill, and dining area. The villa offers enough space for 6-8 people with three bedrooms, two bedrooms (including one ensuite bathroom), a large living room, and a well-equipped kitchen. With a vacation in Noto, the Villa Papeda is the perfect solution for families who would like a quiet vacation, yet still be able to reach Noto and its beautiful surrounding beaches in a short amount of time. For two families or a group of friends, we recommend booking this villa together with the Villa Mennula, found within walking distance.

Noto is considered the capital of Baroque Sicily. Its ancient counterpart, Noto Antica, was built a few kilometers away, and was considered a flourishing city during the Renaissance. The city’s streets often converge onto fascinating and elegant squares or steep staircases connected to panoramic terraces. The entire landscape of the city is a rich testimony to the most refined styles of Baroque architecture and flamboyant decorations. The monumental churches and palaces with their vaulted facades are particularly impressive and beautiful (such as the Chiesa del Carmine or the church of San Bartolomeo al Corso). The soul of Noto can be found in its Baroque architecture, which is not confined to a single street or a particular district, nor is it overshadowed by other architectural styles: the entire city displays a unique stylistic unity which makes Noto, according to several experts, a “perfect Baroque city.” Don’t miss taking a walk through the Via Nicolaci, home of the Nicolaci di Villaodorata Palazzo, with its beautiful wrought-iron balconies, considered by several art historians to be among the most beautiful in the world.
