Brushed by the deep blue water of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the coastline of north-eastern Sicily is rich in lovely seaside resorts with beautiful beaches, located within verdant landscapes and surrounded by the scent of bougainvillea and wisteria. The Nebrodi Natural Park, located just next to the coast, provides a very pleasant and relaxing environment for anyone looking for close contact with unspoilt nature and wildlife, and the villages surrounding the Park are perfect destinations to discover the quiet and peaceful life of locals. Lush and prosperous, the whole area provides delicious and genuine typical products, from cheese to fruits and vegetables, and the hills just behind the coastline are studded with pretty farmhouses (agriturismo) where a taste of local food and wine will turn into a memorable gourmet experience.

Together with the beautiful beaches of Capo d’Orlando and Tindari, an excursion to the Aeolian Islands is highly recommended: this volcanic archipelago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, can be easily reached from the port of Milazzo, set on a scenic promontory providing an enchanting view of the shores of the mainland as well as of the islands.

The easternmost cape of Sicily, Capo Peloro, houses the “gate of Sicily”, the city of Messina: its port is one of the most important and crowded in Italy, and as a key hub crossed by plenty of travellers going from the island of Sicily to the mainland and back, it is rich in culture, history and interesting traditions. Within its province, one of the most legendary destinations of the whole island is set: Taormina, the idyllic hamlet celebrated by some of the most important poets, philosophers and writers from the Nineteenth Century, well-known as an exclusive glamorous holiday destination for VIPs and celebrities, rich in wonders and stunning landscapes.
